Crooked Tow Company in Azle
Dear Mr. Johnson,
I would like to thank you for all your help with my case. The assistance you provided was key in educating the local police of towing laws in Texas. My wife and mother in law were basically carjacked with a tow truck. The tow truck driver thought he had a contract with the apartment complex to tow any car he sees that isn't on the "list", occupied or not. After you educated the local police, we became a high priority case. The local police executed a search warrant of the VSF and seized our vehicle, which was returned in 3 days from the date of incident. They also made 1 arrest in the case so far for interfering with an official police investigation. An arrest warrant was signed by a judge yesterday for the arrest of the driver, since he was operating outside of contract. The District Attorney says this is a strong burglary case.
Again, thanks for all the help with getting our car back and educating us on the laws. Without this knowledge I most likely would have just paid to get it out.

Dear Pat,
Thank you for your website!
I spoke with you on Monday of this week, unfortunately I could not send you
the pictures that day for more detailed guidance, but the conversation we had
helped me to focus on the specifics when I presented my case before the judge.
I won! The one sign posted on the lot was out of compliance with chapter 2308
and they only had one sign for the entire lot with two separate entrances in
the front and the back. Fortunately, I had a fair and sympathetic judge. Your
site is incredibly helpful and I will pass it on to anyone needing assistance.
Unfortunately so many people are victims of illegal tow, but do not know their
rights.
Again, thank you for championing this cause!
Sincerely,
Lena Jones

Pat,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your informative
website and dedication to helping victims that have been unlawfully
towed. I saw first hand the corruption and deception that the towing
industry fosters. They are realizing that Austin is not some "Po-dunk"
town with naive and uneducated citizens. We will stand up, assist those
who need it and spread the word that unethical treatment of citizens
will not be tolerated.
I was towed by a well known company in Austin (J&J Towing) from an
apartment complex and through your assistance and research I came out
victorious in the court of law. It feels good to prevail.
Thanks again for your assistance,
---Robert Knox
Hello,
I just wanted to write to say thank you for your website! You also spoke
with my husband and your advice and website gave us the confidence to
file against the apartment complex who towed our car for an expired
inspection sticker. We had the hearing today and we won! The
apartment was arguing that the orange sticker (which we actually didn't
get but they said we did) is the same as written notice (certified mail or
delivered in person). The judge said no, the orange sticker is not
sufficient and we were awarded the amount we paid for the towing plus
the court filing fees.
Thank you for your effort in educating the public about Texas towing
laws. We are fresh out of college and newly married and those $200+
were a lot to us. Thanks for helping us get it back. We will be donating
some money to help further your outreach in the near future.
Thanks again,
Mr. & Mrs. Clardy
Dear Mr. Johnson,
Your website was critical in helping me win my case with my apartment
complex that authorized an illegal tow of my car. Their signs were
inadequate and out of sight, and their parking spaces improperly marked.
After being armed with the information you gave me regarding my
rights, I discussed my case with my apartment manager and received full
compensation for my illegal towing. Furthermore, a whole host of
infractions (I counted 6 total) against a local towing company were made
known to TDLR. Illegal towing is a huge problem here in the Bryan/College
Station area, and I will recommend your website to anyone having towing
problems.
Sincerely,
Robert Zahn

My name is Bill Moize, Jr. And i am from Dallas. I was reading about the
Texas/OU towing scam that happen last weekend and it brought back
memories of all the times towing companies in Dallas victimize residents.
When I was younger (I am 37 now) I even created a website of my own
about the problem here.
Not near as in depth and complete as yours but at the time I just wanted to
do something. Being a third generation Dallasite and a 5th generation
Texan i take great pride in my state. Like most Texans I feel I have a
pretty clear cut view of right and wrong in my head and this issue you
address is very important. My husband and I have been married for over
15 years and plan to live our entire life's here. I will be mailing a
contribution so I can support your cause. If there is anything I can do to be
of help or assist in any way up here in DFW please feel totally free to let
me know. The fact that my family has been in Dallas for 3 generations and
we have many bossiness that own and run here I am pretty well plugged
into the city and it's government.
